We had the absolute pleasure of staying at the stunning Sofitel Queenstown Hotel & Spa a few months back, and were amazed to find out our room had been upgraded to the Penthouse No. 10. The hotel is centrally positioned near all the shops, dining, and a short stroll to Lake Wakatipu. Shuttle transportation pick-up/drop-off is directly across from the hotel, making getting to and from the mountain a breeze.
Walking inside, the hotel boasts a warm Paris atmosphere, with yellow and gold tones throughout, inspired by the Kowhai flower (native to New Zealand). The front lobby is welcoming, where you can sit back and relax in large comfy chairs whilst checking in. Hints of black are also found throughout to bring a more sophisticated feel to the space.
Moving past the lobby, a grand staircase leads upstairs, and large cosy couches are scattered throughout the foyer with a hot coco station set up for those who need to warm up after a long day out in the cold.

With only 82 luxurious bedrooms and suites, no detail is spared when it comes to creating a space with total relaxation in mind. Each room offers a Sofitel MyBed, double spa, separate rain shower, surround sound entertainment system, espresso machine, under floor heating, WiFi access and special French amenities.
We were lucky enough to be upgraded to one of the best rooms located on the top floor. The PENTHOUSE NO. 10, offers 1 king beg, separate living area, private theatre, outdoor jacuzzi and gorgeous lake and mountain views. With more than 2,422 sq.ft of living space, there was so shortage of luxury here.
