After a quick meeting in Croydon, I was feeling a bit famished so decided to check out the super cute Conservatory Cafe, located at the Wyreen Community Arts Centre.

ATMOSPHERE & SERVICE

Located amongst four acres of gorgeous gardens, here you will find a quaint little cafe, serving up a delicious high tea in a stunning old historic building.  The cafe is enclosed with floor to ceiling windows, a tall white tent roof and an abundance of greenery scattered throughout.

This is such a great location for those with little ones, as there’s an outdoor seating area where you can sit back and relax while keeping an eye on the kiddies playing in the playground.

The service was friendly and attentive from the ladies behind the counter. Coffee was served within a few minutes of ordering, and food was presented a short while later.

FOOD

I would have loved to check out their high tea, however I was in a bit of a rush and needed something quick and simple before heading off to the next meeting. One of their most popular items is the ‘Two Layered High Tea Platter’ served with sandwiches, mini quiches, homemade sausage rolls & potato rostis topped with cream cheese & smoked salmon. Sweets include mini date scones, chocolate dipped profiteroles & raspberry almond tarts. Although it would have been amazing to order, it’s designed for two people, and I unfortunately was dining alone today!

Instead I decided to go with the ‘Arancini’, topped with tomato sauce and served with a small garden salad. The arancini was cooked beautifully, which had a slight crunch on the outside and a delicious gooey centre. This was paired with an ‘Iced Coffee’ filled with vanilla ice cream and topped with cacao powder.

Overall, this was a great little find for a quick and simple meal. If I lived closer, I would definitely pop back and try their high tea selection!
