A weekend away is never complete without a decent breakfast. I’m not one to eat at the hotel, I’d much rather prefer to venture out into the city and see what it has to offer, however the spread looked quite appetising so thought we would start our morning here.
The restaurant is fairly spacious, with a modern, open concept space. Large floor to ceiling windows stretched across the front of the restaurant to let the beautiful natural light into the venue.
Our usual morning routine usually consists of poached eggs, oats and a blended homemade juice. To our surprise, they had all the above! Everything and anything for a healthy breakfast were here, stretched across a massive buffet area. Hot items included eggs, bacon, sausage, mushrooms and cold continental items included cereal, muesli, fruit and yoghurt.
By far the best thing on offer was the freshly squeezed juices you can make yourself. It wasn’t an overly large variety of ingredients to choose from; however they did pick all the key items like celery, ginger, beetroot, carrot and every fruit imaginable. Not something you see at many buffets these days!
Once we had a bit of everything on our plates, coffee was the next thing on our agenda. Since it was a beautiful morning, an iced coffee seemed the way to go. It did take a while to make, however a large frothy iced coffee was placed down in front of us with a mountain of whip cream. So worth the wait!
Redsalt Restaurant pride themselves in partaking in the ‘Eat Local SA’ program where they use only the freshest locally sourced ingredients, focusing on SA’s beautiful produce. The menu is created based around the seasonal local produce available, which really brings you back to the natural beauty we are surrounded by.
I would have loved to pop in here to try their dinner menu, but somehow the weekend slipped passed us. On our next visit to Adelaide, we will be heading back here to see what else they have to offer.
