We had spent the morning at the ever so popular Maho Beach watching the planes come in right above us (a must do if ever visiting the island!). On our way back to the hotel we stopped at Boca Marina which seemed to have some pretty decent reviews.
ATMOSPHERE & SERVICE
This is the only restaurant located in the lagoon next to to the airport. With a stunning view of the water, you can sit back and enjoy an afternoon with the sea breeze on their open concept patio dining room, offering a slightly upscale atmosphere.
Dark hard wood floors, floor to ceiling windows and simple yet elegant tables and chairs fill the space. Decor in the restaurant is simple with a marine theme of hints if blue and white scattered throughout.
The service for lunch was quite slow and friendly, but has been a pattern we’ve noticed thus far with St.Marrten.
FOOD
This restaurant has all your favourites of a seafood restaurant, mixed in with a bit of Caribbean flare. Live lobster, delicious steak and fresh calamari all make the list when deciding what to order.
We started with the ‘Calamari Fritti’, which was freshly caught calamari, breaded with one of the best batters we’ve had and served with a marinara sauce.
MC ordered the ‘Fish & Chips’ served with a small green salad and fries. The same batter was used on the fish as the calamari which was amazing. Our waitress did say that their most ordered dish is the fish and chips and we can definitely see why.
I ordered the ‘Chicken Wrap’, which was served with a grilled chicken breast, lettuce, tomato, cucumber and onions. It was a massive wrap and I could only eat half for lunch, which as fine because we brought the other half home to eat as a snack later.
Boca Marina Restaurant also offers take away food for those looking to enjoy a meal at home or at the beach. Ordering is simple by jumping onto their website and ordering directly online.
Overall lunch was fantastic and the location is stunning. I would definitely recommend heading here for a meal if ever in the area.
