Catch up’s with girlfriends are always best spent in a cosy cafe with a beautiful cup of coffee in hand. On a cool Melbourne day, our monthly catch up was at the Crowded House in Williamstown.

The restaurant is separated into two different sections, either the indoor cafe or the outdoor terrace in the back (which is pet friendly). We opted for the indoor space as it was a bit too chilly of a day for us. It was quite busy when we arrived and sat at a large communal table near the front. There was a constant line up of people waiting for coffees during our entire visit, so it was a no brainier that we needed to get on this.

Someone at the other end of our table had the daily soup, which looked absolutely perfect for the type of day it was. We both ordered the ‘Vegetable Chowder’ (13.50), which was presented with garlic bread. Definitely a great decision! The soup was tasty and so filling neither of us were able to finish the massive bowls we were given.

The space itself features vintage wooden tables and chairs/stools, exposed light bulbs and an open kitchen concept. A rather clean and simple layout is what attracts the Williamstown clientele and the service is terrific! Definitely worth checking out if you are ever in the area.
