Hawaii is on the top of my list of must see places. From the people to the beaches, this is an all-around winner. We landed in Honolulu early in the morning and naturally our hotel wasn’t ready yet. We stored our luggage and made the most of the day and headed to the main strip to check out the shops. Hawaii is known for their high end retail shops and this is exactly what we found. Shop after shop was one designer after the next, a true retail lover’s paradise. The best shopping is their open aired shopping centre, where you’ll find all the best retails over a two floor strip.
Once we finished our morning of shopping, it was time to head back to the hotel and hit the beach. The beaches in Honolulu are absolutely breathtaking. The water is so clear and the sand is powdery white. From the room, you could see massive sea turtles swimming around people who are snorkelling in the water. Definitely something to see!
We unfortunately came during the raining season (November through March), however the rain is quite isolated so it’s not so bad. There were only a few heavy patches of rain that came through, but nothing to ruin a holiday.
The best way to get a completely different perspective of the island is to hire a yacht and sail around the island. It generally takes 4 to 5 days to make your way around the island without rushing and is probably one of the biggest recommendations I can give.
Although we have only been to Honolulu, we will definitely be making another trip to Hawaii and check out the other islands. The locals are extremely friendly and go out of their way to make you feel at home. I can’t wait to come back and see what the other islands have to offer.
