On our first morning in Healesville, we took a little stroll from our AirBnB to the quaint main strip with antique shops, cafes and historic buildings. We stopped at Healesville Harvest cafe for a quick bite before starting our day.
ATMOSPHERE & SERVICE
The cafe offers both a small indoor area and an oversized outdoor space with large wooden picnic tables, bright yellow umbrellas and lush greenery throughout.
Brush concrete flooring create a charming rustic vibe to the indoor space, which follows through to the covered outdoor terrace. The cafe counter is full of jars with house made goodies including a brightly lit cabinet with delicious baked goods all available for purchase.
The service was friendly and relaxed. The coffee did take a bit to arrive, however it was quite busy, so knew both our coffee and food would take a bit to come out.
FOOD
Our morning starting with delicious coffee from Genovese & Sons, which is a third generation coffee roasting business. The coffee was strong and exactly what we needed to start our morning.
I ordered the ‘K&B Apricot Granola’ with poached fruit, nuts and grains sitting on a thin layer of thick vanilla yoghurt. I loved that the yoghurt wasn’t overpowering the delicious flavours from the granola and instead accommodated the fresh poached apple and pear.
MC ordered ‘Poached Eggs on Toast’ with a side of vegemite and bacon. The eggs were cooked to MC’s liking, which weren’t too hard and the bacon nice and crispy.
Overall we had a great first breakfast in Healesville. The service was friendly and polite, the food fresh and delicious and the atmosphere was homey and relaxed.
