Tired of being stuck in traffic on your way to the airport? Well, this past weekend, we splurged and checked out the new ‘VIP’ way to get to the airport! How does 4 minutes sound? That’s right, from lift off to touch down, it took us a whole 4 minutes to make our way to the Melbourne Airport.
Air Melbourne offers the newest, most exclusive way to get from the CBD to Melbourne Tullamarine Airport with the new Heli-Express at your service. The jet black lux Agusta twin-engine helicopter operates between Melbourne Airport Heliport, located at the Mercedes-Benz Airport Express dealership and the South Wharf heliport on the Yarra River.
They do note that the time it takes to get to your destination is only 4 minutes, however this does not include the safety brief prior to departure and the transit time once you land at the Mercedes-Benz dealership to the terminal. Once touched down, you are greeted by a friendly Mercedes-Benz valet driver who will chauffeur you directly to the departure terminal.
From the moment we walked in, we were treated like VIP’s. Refreshment drinks await you on arrival in the lounge area as you are briefed on your flight.
On this particular trip, we were lucky enough to have a private charter, which gave us the full VIP experience. Keep in mind, talking on the phone or having a conversation are kept to a minimum as it’s quite loud after take off. You have head phones where you can speak to the pilot throughout the flight, who also keeps you informed on what’s happening below.
