If you’re searching for the best place to stay in Honolulu, I absolutely recommend the Outrigger on the Beach. We spent one night here before spending the following 3 nights sailing around the island, which was a much-needed stay in a comfy bed after just getting off an 11-hour flight.
We landed in Waikiki early in the morning and knew our room wouldn’t be ready, so we packed a separate bag with our beach/pool clothes so we could at least take full advantage of the sunshine while waiting for our room. When we checked in, we were giving a room that we were able to get changed it, which was a nice gesture that most hotels do not offer.
After getting changed, we spent the morning and early afternoon being tourists in the local area and relaxing by the pool. At 2pm, we were given access to our room, and it was well worth the wait! We were on one of the top floors of the hotel in one of their penthouse rooms. The view was absolutely breathtaking to say the least. You could even see the massive sea turtles swimming around the bay from our room, which was remarkable to see.
We had dinner that night at the hotel restaurant, Chuck’s Steak House, which was a beautiful beachfront restaurant where you could watch the sunset. The restaurant is the type where you order the type of meat (raw) and then you cook it yourself on the large open BBQ area.
Overall, great experience and would definitely come back here if we had the chance to go back to Hawaii.
