MC & I had the pleasure of visiting the LAX Qantas Business Lounge after it had just opened on our way back to Australia. We had quite a long layover and were ready to sit back and enjoy some Neil Perry inspired food and drinks while we waited for our next leg of the trip. The First Class Lounge was yet to open when we were there, so the Business Lounge, which offers 400 seats was overly packed, making it difficult to find a seat for the two of us.
The space is quite spacious, making it easy to get around with luggage (I find most lounges try to crowd as many people in as possible, making it difficult to move around). The fit out of the space is very LA, with a beautiful cocktail bar in centre of the lounge, a fancy oversized communal fireplace with wrap around bench seating, central glass atrium providing natural lighting and interior lounge furniture inspired by the California lifestyle.
The lounge is open to OneWorld members and lounge partners including British Airways and Cathay Pacific. Check out the table at the below for all those who are able to enjoy the lounge.
The menu is inspired by the California lifestyle, which is well put together be Neil Perry himself. Cultural foods including Italian, Mexican, Chinese and Korean all make the massive hot and cold buffet list, alongside our favourite ‘West Coast’ foods.
This was the first lounge I’ve been to that have had food carts inside the lounge, with one signature dish on each. Anything from pulled pork tacos, to hot dogs to spiced chicken wings, they were all available and made to order.
I’ve been to several Qantas lounges where the wifi has been horrible due to all the people using it at once. However the lounge here has had a massive improvement on their wifi capabilities to ensure everyone has high speed internet while enjoying the lounge.
We are heading back to Canada in a few months and are eager to see the new improvements they have made to the current lounge as well as check out the new First Class lounge. A new post will be made on the updates and upgraded features as well as the new lounge.
