Located just around the corner from Chapel Street on Toorak Road, this swanky little wine bar & restaurant has created quite the hype since co owners Michael, Shelly, Luke and Nick opening it’s doors in late 2016.
ATMOSPHERE & SERVICE
Space may be limited, however the vibe makes up the modern yet classy feel. You are welcoming by the quaint little white outdoor seating area, perfect for these gorgeous Melbourne days with a delicious cocktail in hand.
Moving inside, a colour scheme of grey and cream are contrasted by light wood floors, a dark bar and hints of greenery. There are only a hand full of tables which line the long and deep venue plus a generous size bar, showcasing an impressive range of bottles.
The service was friendly and attentive from the moment we walked through the door. The gentleman who looked after us was well knowledged, had a genuine friendliness to him and wasn’t overly present which I enjoyed.
FOOD
Although the menu may be small, you will find high quality, Australian produce used as much as possible. From the bar, co owner and mixologist Luke has created some beautiful cocktails that have become quite popular with the warmer weather.
Since we had decided to come for lunch, I had an early light breakfast as I knew I would probably order something a bit larger for lunch. With a quick look over the menu, I was drawn to the ‘Free Range Roasted Hazeldenes Chicken’ served with celeriac, glazed turnip, baby carrot and jus. The chicken was cooked beautifully and loved the creaminess from the root veggies.
Overall, I was quite impressed with our afternoon here. The food was amazing, the service was flawless and the atmosphere was cosy. Although I couldn’t try their cocktails (being pregnant), I will definitely have to head back in a few months and check out their drinks menu.
