A weekend away to Sydney led us to staying at the gorgeous 5 Star hotel The Westin. Located in the heart of Sydney’s fashion & financial district along Martin Place and a short distance to Darling Harbour, this is the perfect location for any occasion to stay here. The hotel is located inside the renovated General Post Office, which boasts a very historic and sophisticated atmosphere.
We had entered through the front entrance, showcasing a beautifully well-lit lobby area featuring marble flooring, artistic blue murals, funky status and wall fountains. The space is quite spacious and offers a series of small cafes and boutique shops along the GPO side of the lobby. We had drinks both nights in the Lobby Bar, however be prepared to wait quite a while for your drinks to arrive.
Within the lobby area is the Concierge team, including 3 fantastic, well knowledged members who can point you in the right direction and give outstanding recommendations.
The Westin offers two different style accommodation options. Either the heritage rooms located in the historic GPO building, or the more contemporary rooms in the Tower. All rooms are spacious featuring the Signature Heavenly Beds and either antique or contemporary furnishings, depending on which building you are staying in.
I love when a hotel has a decent gym, and the Westin definitely does not fall short on this. A full Good Life gym is available to all guests at no cost which includes a range of cardio equipment, weights and a variety of fitness classes including yoga, spinning and yoga.
Breakfast was quite extensive with a full hot and cold buffet including made to order omelettes and the ‘Westin Fresh by The Juicery’, which includes an assortment of nourishing, healthy juices and smoothies. We did have breakfast here both mornings; but at $60 per person, I think breakfast in the lounge would have been much nicer.

I found this hotel ideal for those on business. It is located in the perfect location to the business district and offers all amenities needed to get through the day. For those on a holiday or a romantic getaway, you are also located close to all the main attractions and offers a full spa facility to make your trip as relaxing as possible.
