Two Feet First is a newish cafe/restaurant in Chelsea, and it seems the area has been screaming for something like this for some time. Located along Nepean Hwy and a short walk from the shore, this corner restaurant has certainly caught the attention of many locals.
ATMOSPHERE & SERVICE
I love that this restaurant is located less than a 10 minute walk from the beach, making it the perfect spot to grab a coffee before a morning stroll. Inside, the space is quite large, with a long dining space along one side and kitchen/coffee bar along the other. The interior has a stylish, modern fitout showcasing gorgeous natural timber, with hits of black throughout.
The one thing I really took away from this restaurant was how friendly and attentive the staff were. The gentleman who looked after me had a genuine friendliness and ensured that every aspect of my meal was perfect.
FOOD
I decided to pop in for lunch on a weekday, knowing that it wouldn’t be overly busy and would be able to sit back and enjoy a bit of quiet. The menu is quite small with only a hand full of breakfast and lunch options to choose from, however all great choices!
I once again started with my morning Piccolo (which was a bit late today), while I decided if I should go with something from their breakfast or lunch menu. The coffee arrived quite and hot, with a smooth and creamy finish, which I love.
After much debate, I decided to try their ‘Crispy Spiced Buttermilk Chicken’ served with jalapenos, sriracha and coleslaw with a side of chips. I’m usually a bit fussy when it comes to burgers, however I was loving how tender the chicken was, and paired with the sriracha, it was a winning dish. Also, the chips were some of the best I’ve had in a long time, I’ve been craving them ever since I had them!
I’m definitely keen to come back and check out their breakfast menu on a weekend. I always find breakfast so much better than lunch dishes, so would be interested to see what they create early in the morning!
