On a spur of the moment getaway, we decided to be spontaneous and head to Bali for a long weekend. We’ve been a few times before, and with only a weekend up our sleeve, we thought we would treat ourselves and stay at the W Resort & Spa in one of their private villas.
With 229 retreats, suites and villas, the resort is designed for true tranquility. The W Hotel range spare no expensive when it comes to the decor, offering innovative touches and stunning views of the ocean and perfectly maintained gardens.
GUEST ROOMS
The W Resort have options available at all price points, depending on how secluded you want your holiday to be. We opted for the 2,422 square foot (225 square metre) Marvelous One Bedroom Pool Villa offering a W Signature king size bed, living space, office space, munchie box, BOSE sound system and floor to ceiling windows overlook your own private pool.
Upon our arrival, a make your own cocktail set was waiting for us to enjoy when we were ready. We quickly unpacked, put on our bathing suits and shook up some tasty cocktails before heading out to the pool to enjoy some sunshine.
If the bedroom area wasn’t amazing enough, the bathroom is every home owners dream! Complete with terrazzo bathtub, rain forest shower, side by side sinks, Bliss Spa amenities and plush bath robes to make this the utmost relaxing bathroom possible!
Moving outside to our private 25 square metre pool was completely surreal. With total privacy and stunning landscaping, the perfect oasis awaits. Take in the sun on one of your pool chairs, or sit back and relax on your own cabana bed. Food and drinks can be ordered at any time from the touch of a button and arrive within only a short time.
POOL
Moving to the public areas of the resort, another favourite is the tropical WET® pool, offering oversized beanbags for lounging, multilayered pools, and an abundance of sun chairs. One of my biggest pet peeves is not having enough chairs, and this place does not disappoint. In addition to seating around the pool, there is ample seating on the beach, plus cabana beds to hire if desired.
DINING
For those who are a bit more of the foodie type, the W Resort has you covered with more than 8 bars and restaurants to enjoy without having to step foot off the property. With something different to offer at each stop, there is something new and exciting to try throughout your stay.
- STARFISH BLOO – A stylish beach side restaurant, focusing on Pan-Asian cuisine in a casual yet stylish atmosphere. Dress code – smart casual
- FIRE – This grill style restaurant focuses on the best of the best in prime meats and seafood boasting dramatic displays of gastronomy. Causal atmosphere and dress code.
- WOOBAR – Known for their more upbeat atmosphere, the bar is open all day to enjoy light eats & tasty drinks in a fun and casual atmosphere. Head to the sky deck to enjoy international DJ’s as they spin throughout the day and late into the evening.
- W LOUNGE – This lobby lounge is like no other. With its sophisticated and trendy vibe, sit back at any time and enjoy a cocktail or two at their Mediterranean style bar.
